James Freeman Studio

I work alone in my own studio and perform every step of the process myself, including making my own glazes. All of my pieces are individually crafted. They are either one-of-a-kind or made in very limited runs. I do not employ any mass production techniques, nor do I crank out large batches of “production pottery”. I tend to avoid the use of measuring devices and jigs, so there are subtle differences even amongst members of a small batch. Each piece is therefore a unique expression.

There is of course some overlap between these two categories, so I attempted to define each piece by which characteristic seemed predominant.
